I started playing music in Sacramento in about 1991. Over the next 8 years I was in and out of a bunch of different bands, mostly learning as I went. I played bass, drums, and/or sang, and played a little guitar. As a solo musician though guitar was my main instrument. I wrote tons of songs, played open mic, opened for punk bands, and did a little bit of busking both in Sac and whenever I traveled. I did love playing drums and had my own kit for a while but at some point I dropped all of the bands to focus only on songwriting and guitar. I think the fact that I moved a lot and didn't have a place for drums all the time probably was a factor too. I have posted an archive of my own music:
When I first moved to San Francisco I played drums briefly with Jen Faith in a short-lived band called Kimchi. I was still playing guitar here and there but my enthusiasm for singing my own songs had waned. Playing music was not a huge priority in my life.
In early 2005 I had a short stint on drums with J Neo Marvin. It didn't work out for me to continue in the band but it got me really interested in playing drums seriously again. I then did a band workshop at the Blue Bear School of Music playing rock drums. I continued on with some of the guys from the workshop and we kept that going for almost a year and a half playing Aerosmith, ACDC, Queen, and other hard rock. In the meantime I also joined Seventh Son. We played 50's and 60's rock and RnB.

Pam Davis "Renegade" tape (homemade in 1996) 8 songs.

I usually like it when folks come to folk music from a punk point of view and this tape is no exception, Pam can play really nice, sweet folk songs on acoustic guitar and she's got a nice voice, but there's also some fresh moments on this tape that show some "less refined" influences. She starts of with "Back Off" telling hate-filled folks to go away and closes with a nice catchy rebel anthem "Renegade". In between she digs up personal demons and explores the beauties of life and love. Throughout it all there's a strong energy that flows through the recording and plenty of catchy hooks.
